Poster Project..

Little update:

Along with the anthology book, I've been working on another project to coincide with the books release in November. This one is teaming up concert poster/print artists from each city to work on a limited screenprint together. These prints will be released the same time as the book and will be available online and at to-be-scheduled book release parties in both San Francisco & Portland. More about this later..

Bridge Project: San Francisco / Portland

Hey everybody...

This is a call out to all artists in the Portland and San Francisco area (Yes, this includes Berkeley & Oakland),.. it's time to represent your town.

The comic communities of both Portland and San Francisco are tied together. Whether this be by similar social/political atmospheres, similar environment or by mass exoduses of individuals moving between the two. Both towns are epicenters of creativity. The goal of this project is to create a "bridge" in which both can work together.

Here is how it works. Contributors from one city will be paired up with a contributor from another, and together they will work on a story. This can mean anything. One can be responsible for art, the other writing or they can both work together on a "jam" piece. As long as they both contribute to a single story.

Rules
1. Teams must work together on stories. One can draw, one can write.. or both can draw. It's up to the team. Both must contribute.
2. Stories should be between 2 to 10 pages. If you think you are going to go longer, just drop me a note.
3. Page Size - 8 x 11, to be shrunken later.... 600 dpi TIFF or JPEG
4. Should be black & white, Half-tones and Grayscale OK
5. Since this is a Portland/Bay Area book there should be some kind of reference to either city. I'm keeping this as up-in-the-air as possible: ...Story can take place in one of these cities, a character can be from there, a story can be about something that happened in either place, or one of the cities can simply be mentioned somewhere.

Submission deadline is: Sept. 1st, 2007
The goal is to premiere a preview book for Stumptown (Sept. 29/30) and SPX (Oct. 12/13) this year, then have the final printed book (with the possible addition of new teams) ready for APE 2008.
